Red bench against feminicide at the Permanent Representation of Italy in Brussels

Panchina Rossa RAPUE

The Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU in Brussels has installed a red bench in the garden its garden as symbol of the “void left in society when a woman falls victime to feminicide” and of Italy’s committment to preventing gender equality and women’s emancipation.

The initiative was launched by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, who on March 8th had arranged for the placement of a red bench in the Farnesina and invited the Italian diplomatic-consular network to do the same, as a signal of the commitment against every form of violence and discrimination against women, in Italy and in the world.
