Ambassador<\/span> Vincenzo Celeste<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

<\/span>Born in Naples on<\/span> 6<\/span> September<\/span> 1962,<\/span> he graduated in Law<\/span> from<\/span> the<\/span> University Federico II of Naples on <\/span>9<\/span> July<\/span> 1987.<\/span> He joined the diplomatic service on<\/span> 13<\/span> February<\/span> 1989.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

From 1<\/span>4<\/span> November<\/span> 1989<\/span> he served at the Directorate<\/span> General fo<\/span>r<\/span> Migration and Social Affairs<\/span>,<\/span> first in <\/span>the Office for Italians in the Americas and Oceania and later in the same Directorate General\u2019s <\/span>Secretariat<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>On<\/span> 3<\/span> May<\/span> 1993<\/span> he was appointed<\/span> Second<\/span> Secretary<\/span> at the<\/span> Italian Embassy in Damascus<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>On<\/span> 21<\/span> July<\/span> 1997<\/span> h<\/span>e was appointed First Secretary and later Counsellor<\/span> at<\/span> the Italian Embassy in<\/span> Sofia<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Upon returning to Rome, in December 2000, he was assigned to the General Directorate for Multilateral <\/span>Political Affairs and Human Rights at the Disarmament<\/span> Office and from 3 September 2002 to the General <\/span>Secretariat, Coordination Unit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Embassy Counsellor<\/span> <\/strong>on 2 July 2004, from 19 September 2005 he<\/span> was appointed to the Permanent <\/span><\/span>Representation of Italy to the EU<\/span> in Brussels,<\/span> with the rank of<\/span> First<\/span> Counsellor<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Returning to Rome again in 2010, he served at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers<\/span><\/span> as<\/span><\/span> Coordinator <\/span><\/span>of the Structure for Procedures for infringement of<\/span><\/span> EU law<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Plenipotentiary<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> on 2 January 2011, he was appointed Diplomatic<\/span><\/span> Counsellor<\/span><\/span><\/span> to the Minister <\/span><\/span>for European Affairs from the end of 2011.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>On 27 June 2013 he<\/span><\/span> was<\/span><\/span><\/span> appointed Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy in London and on 10 July <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2018 Deputy Chief of Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On<\/span><\/span> 31<\/span><\/span> August<\/span><\/span> 2019<\/span><\/span> he was appointed<\/span><\/span> Director Genera<\/span><\/span>l for Europe and International Trade P<\/span><\/span>olicy<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He is<\/span><\/span><\/span> Permanent Representative of Italy to the European Union<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> from 17 April 2023.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On<\/span><\/span> 2 January 2025 <\/span>he was appointed Ambassador<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
