EUCA in Rome 11.12.2025

EUCA

On 11 December, Italy presented its candidacy to host the future European Customs Authority (EUCA) in Rome, with an event organised at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Brussels by the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union and the Italian Embassy in Belgium.

The event started with the greetings from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Antonio Tajani and speeches by Permanent Representative Vincenzo Celeste and Italian Ambassador to Belgium Federica Favi.

Supporting Rome’s candidacy were Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, Director of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) Roberto Alesse and CEO of Filiera Italia Luigi Scordamaglia.

Italy’s bid for Rome is based on the expertise of the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency – recognised as one of the most advanced in Europe in terms of digitalisation, data integration, fraud prevention and implementation of the Union Customs Code – and on the international vocation of our capital, which is increasingly playing a leading role in European dynamics.
